I was born in 1978 in a small town in Italy called Piombino. I studied illustration in Florence and began painting when I was 17. When I lived in Florence I would visit the Uffizi Gallery frequently and was always drawn to the large-scale paintings because of the impact they had on the viewer. Painting for me is an escape, a way to change my perception of reality. In my paintings I try to convey messages about social matters that affect us on a daily basis that we may not necessarily see as an issue. I have painted 5 series so far and working on a sixth all relating to these types of social matters such as how much control of our lives we relinquish to our bosses or how we conform to the standards our consumist society sets for us.
My inspirations have been Francis Bacon, Jenny Saville and Eric Fischl to name a few.
